Created in 1980 by writer Renate Stendhal (Paris) and painter Maj Skadegaard (Copenhagen), the show is a queer, provocative take on Patriarchy, Matriarchy and the Now. Using 4 slide carousels in dissolve plus Super-8 film, In the Beginning…of the End opened at the Berlin Summer University for Women in 1980 and was recorded on 16mm film by the Canadian Film Board, Studio D in 1981.
 
The NON-PROFIT  show played at women centers, feminist study programs and academies all over Europe for 4 years and won awards at feminist and gay film festivals. (Video below.)
